Things to know
In Delta Junction we like to visit the Clearwater River Campground, Quartz Lake is fun with all the hiking trails. You might enjoy a flightseeing ride in a small bush plane too. For this we highly recommend Golden Eagle Outfitters (good friends of ours) who do an excellent job! It is just a short hop to take a flight into the mountains and get an up close look a glacier. Also, just south of Delta the Hwy winds through a mountain pass and there are a lot of hiking opportunities there and great scenery too!
Good places to eat in Delta are the Delta Brewery or the Buffalo Center Drive In.
No smoking or pets please.
Please let us know if you plan to drive North on the Dalton Hwy towards the Arctic Circle. The Dalton Hwy is an extremely rough gravel road with deep potholes, washboards, and mud just to name a few of the hazards. Due to these factors we will charge a non-negotiable fee of $15,000 if our RV is driven past the start of the Dalton Hwy which is located at the turn off for Manley Hotsprings (Elliot Hwy). Thank you
