How does the process work?

Good Sam RV Rentals is a place for renters and owners to connect, explore, and share the RV lifestyle. We're the matchmakers of the RV world. Renters and owners create profiles at Renters search for an available listing they’re interested in and then connect with the owner to begin the rental process.

We provide resources for renters and owners to make the rental process an easy, fun, and safe experience.

What happens if a renter or owner cancels?

Before listing or booking, please review the cancellation policy for details. Cancellations initiated by the owner will result in a full refund to the renter. Cancellations initiated by the renter are subject to the terms in the policy details. 

Are rentals delivered or do renters pick them up?

Owners can decide if they offer rental delivery. They will specify if this is an option and customize rate per mile in the listing details. Renters and owners communicate with each other before pick up or delivery to confirm details like these prior to reservation.

Do renters pay any additional rental fees?

Any additional rental fees are specified in the listing process, including increased rates for delivery or add-ons. A security deposit amount is specified by the owner during the listing process.

How does payment work?

As a new owner to Good Sam RV Rentals, payouts are initiated the day after the rental is completed. Once you have conducted a minimum of 2 rentals and $1,000 in revenue, your payouts will then be processed 24 hours after the start of the rental for any future bookings.

Please note that payouts can sometimes take an additional day or two to appear in your bank account depending on your bank's processing schedule, weekends, and holidays.

*Any owner that previously met this criteria before February 2022, will continue to receive their payout 24 hours after the rental starts.

Is a Good Sam membership required?

A Good Sam membership is not required to list an RV or rent an RV however, Good Sam members receive special discounts on fuel, retail shopping, propane and more. Learn more about a Good Sam Membership and savings here.

Who do I contact if I have problems?

Reach out to [email protected] with any questions or problems, and we’ll be glad to help address anything as quickly as possible!

Should I expect to receive a tax form?

Yes, so long as:

  • Your gross payments were over $20,000 and 200 transactions (for 2021 tax year). The filing thresholds at the state level varies and a state form may be required.
  • You receive $600 or more in reportable payments during the year (starting with the 2022 tax year).

When applicable, Good Sam RV Rentals will issue a 1099-K tax form.  Please note that Filer’s name on Form 1099-K will be FreedomRoads Holding Company, LLC.  You should consult your tax advisor on how these amounts should be reported on your tax return.

Your form will be ready by Jan. 31 for the prior tax year and will be mailed to the address on file. 

We’ll also notify the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state jurisdictions (when applicable) of your reportable payments.
